GreenAcres HealthTalk with Brett, Matt and Shannon is a fast-paced hour of interviews, health quizzes and bantering on health topics in the news and within our local communities. The program is designed to inform and entertain, and aims to have something for everyone in the 20-80-plus age range.  Our three gurus bring their A-game to a variety of topics including: Matt's Top Five; Is it Fad, Fiction or Fabulous?, Deal of the Day, plus interviews with national and local alternative medicine experts, supplement founders, vendor profiles and more. A great way to get a lot of knowledge in a short hour.

Dr. Marita Schauch, a Canadian naturopathic doctor and spokesperson for Natural Factors supplements, will be interviewed by the gurus on this episode of GAHT.  Dr. Marita comes with a wealth of information about women’s health, particularly those issues impacting the adrenal and thyroid glands. We go to Tulsa for our guest expert this week when the gurus interact with a local chiropractor and host of his own radio show, “Living Well with Dr. Howard Boos,” heard weekly over KRMG.  Dr. Boos will tell us some of the advancements in chiropractic medicine and how he deals with patients at Southwestern Regional Medical Center’s Cancer Treatment Centers of America.  You’ll hear mention of two ways customers have had success lowering their cholesterol: taking Nordic Naturals Omega 3 Fish Oil; and by eating just a half of a popular fruit daily. With the flu reaching epidemic proportions in something like 47 states, it’s good to learn about one healthy thing we can add to our morning regimen that just might keep those germs away. Dr. Joseph Galichia, a Wichita Interventional Cardiologist visits the gurus this week and discusses the number one killer of women: Heart disease.  Jody, as he’s known the city over, was the first to bring angioplasty to Kansas and now concentrates on catheter-based treatments which entails threading a razor-thin flexible tube through narrowed arteries to repair damaged blood vessels, coronary blood clots and congenital heart defects.  Also on deck: Jerry Smith, independent health industry broker.
