Blackberry Crisp with Streusel Topping
Ingredients
Blackberry Crisp
- 4 cups frozen blackberries
- 2 T. arrowroot powder, cornstarch, or other thickener
- ½ c. sugar
- 1 T. lemon juice
Streusel Topping
- 1 ½ c. Namaste Foods Cookie dry mix
- ¼ c. butter or margarine, cut into small cubes
- ¼ c. brown sugar
- ½ t. cinnamon
- ¼ t. nutmeg
Directions
- Heat oven to 400°F. Lightly spray 1 ½ qt. casserole with non-stick spray.
- Combine blackberries (no need to thaw) with arrowroot, sugar and lemon juice. Place in bottom of casserole pan and set aside.
- Combine dry cookie mix, butter or margarine, brown sugar, cinnamon and nutmeg. Mix just until it comes together but is still crumbly. Sprinkle streusel over blackberries evenly.
- Bake for approximately 20-25 minutes until top is brown and fruit is bubbling. Serve warm. Great topped with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream.
