GreenAcres began with one determined woman and a simple belief: that better nutrition could change lives.
After her own health journey revealed the power of clean food, founder Barb Hoffmann turned that mission into a business. In spring 1994, Barb and her husband John opened the first GreenAcres Market at Bradley Fair in Wichita.
That single store grew into a woman-led, family-owned natural foods market across Kansas, Missouri, and Oklahoma, with daughter Shannon carrying the vision forward.
In July 2024, after 30 years of building GreenAcres into a Midwestern institution, the Hoffmann family passed the torch , joining a new family!
Barb called the decision “bittersweet,” and made sure the things that mattered most carried forward: the team, the community, and the mission to help people live healthier lives. That mission is still the heartbeat of every GreenAcres store today.
We’ve seen a few health fads come and go. Long before organics went mainstream, GreenAcres carried the best certified organic produce, natural groceries, and supplements in the area.
Organic, fresh, and clean food is at the core of who we are. And every time you shop with us, you’re supporting local producers and retailers and a more sustainable food system.
Founded in Wichita, Kansas, GreenAcres Market began with a mission to make healthier choices easier to find and easier to understand. Our first store opened at Bradley Fair in Wichita, and we built our reputation on quality standards, knowledgeable staff, and a deep commitment to natural health education long before organic food became mainstream.
Today, GreenAcres Markets serves shoppers looking for an organic grocery store in Wichita, an organic grocery store in Oklahoma City, and a trusted natural food store in Lawton. Across our locations, customers can find organic produce, clean grocery staples, humanely raised proteins, chemical-free health and beauty products, home goods, and made-from-scratch deli meals prepared with organic ingredients.
In Wichita, GreenAcres Markets serves the community through our Bradley Fair, 21st & Maize, and Normandie locations. We also serve customers in Oklahoma City at Walnut Square and in Lawton with the same focus on fresh, natural, and organic products, plus expert guidance in supplements and wellness.
We believe healthy shopping should feel personal, whether you are buying everyday groceries, shopping for a specific diet, or looking for convenient curbside pickup and delivery at select stores. More than a market, GreenAcres is a place where better food, better wellness, and better living come together for communities in Wichita, Oklahoma City, Lawton, and the surrounding areas.
Four commitments guide every product we stock, every partner we choose, and every person we hire.
What sets us apart isn’t just what’s on the shelves, it’s who’s standing next to them.
Our team is committed to alternative health education and genuinely loves to help. Whether you’re navigating the supplement aisle for the first time or hunting for something specific, just ask.
Shopping at GreenAcres is an event. From the moment you walk in, the colorful produce invites you to eat the whole rainbow, the deli and bakery cases tempt you with fresh-made food, and a friendly face is always close by.
We’re proud to do more than sell products. We’re here to build strong, healthy communities across the Midwest.
