Hydration How To

Up to 60% of the human body is water.  Hydration is essential for energy, weight loss, digestion, detoxification, regulating body temperature, protecting our organs, lubricating joints and hydrating our skin.  As the weather heats up, it is vital we stay hydrated to stay healthy.

Alkaline water helps hydrate better than regular water, according to published research.  In addition, alkaline water has positive research studies for acid reflux and circulation.   One of our favorites, Eternal Water, also has naturally occurring minerals that it picks up from layers of ancient rock that naturally filters the water.

Electrolytes impact how your muscles function and how much water you have in your body. They are key components in many bodily functions.  After an hour of relatively intense activity, you will NEED electrolytes. At that point in time, you need to replace the minerals you have lost through sweat.   We love Ultima Replenisher for its great taste and zero carbs, or for more intense workouts, Biochem’s Hydro Recovery has electrolytes, tart cherry and coconut water.

Hydrate on the outside with hyaluronic acid.  It helps attract moisture to the skin.  Hyalogic’s Lip Balm is a life saver in the Midwest winds.  It contains beeswax which helps trap the moisture and leaves your  lips hydrated.
