Staying Safe in the Sun

As the weather heats up and we are outside more, it is time for sunscreen.    As you shop for your sunscreen, make sure you check ingredients.    The Environmental Working Group states 90% of the products available in the U.S. are not allowed in Europe.  Now, the US government has weighed in.

In February 2019, the FDA announced it has proposed a rule to declare mineral sunscreen ingredients as safe, specifically zinc oxide and titanium dioxide. The agency said 12 other chemicals commonly used in sunscreens need more research to determine if they’re can be officially listed as safe.
